Last year, the Illinois Behavioral Health Workforce Center convened behavioral health providers and organizations across the state for a series of events designed to foster collaboration, share effective strategies, and co-create practical solutions for retaining staff across behavioral health settings. Through these conversations, and with ongoing guidance from our provider advisory groups, BHWC developed a new, free resource to support agencies statewide: the Behavioral Health Workforce Retention Toolkit.
The Toolkit addresses some of the most pressing challenges facing the field today: recruiting, supporting and retaining a qualified, mission-driven workforce. Co-created with providers, supervisors and organizational leaders, it offers actionable steps any agency can implement to improve workforce stability and reduce the disruptions caused by turnover. As the behavioral health landscape continues to evolve, the Toolkit will grow with it, incorporating new insights, data and practices over time.
Whether you’re a clinical supervisor seeking new ways to support your team, an HR leader rethinking hiring practices, or a funder looking to better understand workforce needs, this Toolkit was built for you.
